Summary of Content

This guide discusses a wide breadth of knowledge city staff and elected officials need to know in order to best plan for communities in Texas. The guide explains the role and expectations of the Planning and Zoning Commission and the commissioners that perform those duties. This publication also describes the use of zoning and what role the Zoning Board of Adjustment plays. The ability to ennex is explained in detail. It also provides insight into planning and development regulations and subdivision controls. The ability to implement planning initiatives through capital improvement programming, impact fee, and exactions is citical to action.
